Dance movement is its own thing.
Pulse Dance Shoes engineers footwear for the way dancers move. That is the whole brief, and it has not changed.
What we mean by that
Grip and release, in the same second
Plenty of footwear is built for movement. Dance movement is a different problem.
You turn on a fixed point under the ball of your foot. You send your weight sideways and stop it on a beat. The foot loads on its edge, then the heel, then the ball again, and it does that for three hours.
So the sole has to do two contradictory things at once. Grip when you plant. Release when you turn. Same shoe, same second, same piece of sole. That is the problem we set out to solve, and solving it is the reason the company exists.
How we get there
No single part does it
Four things decide whether a sole can dance, and none of them works on its own.
Change one and the other three stop working. They are engineered as one system and tested as one system, because that is the only way a shoe learns to dance rather than simply to move.
And the shoe on top of it
A high-performance engine in a comfortable car.
We wanted all of that underneath, and a sneaker we would actually want to wear on top.
Nothing on the outside announces what the sole is doing. You wear them to class, and you keep them on afterwards.
What goes into every pair.

What we are here to do
Every shoe answers one question.
Does this serve dance movement? Everything after that is a matter of taste.
